Aqua, commonly known as water, serves primarily as a solvent in cosmetic formulations. It is the most abundant ingredient in many products and is essential for dissolving other ingredients, facilitating their application and absorption on the skin. Formulators often add Aqua to create a suitable texture and consistency, ensuring that products are easy to spread and apply. Additionally, water can help to hydrate the skin, making it a vital component in many moisturizing formulations.

Fragrance, also known as Parfum or Aroma, is a complex mixture of aromatic compounds used in cosmetics to impart a pleasant scent. Its primary function is to enhance the sensory experience of a product, making it more appealing to consumers. Formulators may add Fragrance to mask the natural odors of other ingredients or to create a signature scent that differentiates a product in the market. However, it's important to note that Fragrance can be a potential irritant for some individuals, which is a consideration for formulators when developing products.

COCONUT ACID is a versatile ingredient commonly used in cosmetic formulations. It serves multiple functions, including cleansing, skin-conditioning as an emollient, and acting as a surfactant for emulsifying and cleansing purposes. The cleansing function allows it to help remove dirt and impurities from the skin, while its skin-conditioning-emollient property can contribute to a softer and smoother skin feel. Additionally, as a surfactant-emulsifying agent, COCONUT ACID can aid in blending oil and water components in formulations, enhancing texture and stability. Formulators may add it to create effective and pleasant products that improve the overall user experience.

SODIUM GLUCONATE is a sodium salt of gluconic acid, commonly used in cosmetic formulations for its chelating and skin-conditioning properties. As a chelator, it helps to bind metal ions, which can prevent them from interfering with the stability and efficacy of other ingredients in a formulation. This function is particularly important in products that may be exposed to various environmental factors. Additionally, its skin-conditioning properties contribute to the overall feel and hydration of the skin, making it a valuable ingredient in a variety of cosmetic products. Formulators may add SODIUM GLUCONATE to enhance product performance and improve the sensory experience for users.

GLYCERIN is a versatile ingredient commonly used in cosmetics for its multiple functions. It acts as a humectant, which means it helps to attract moisture to the skin and hair, making it beneficial for maintaining hydration. Additionally, it serves as a skin-conditioning agent, enhancing the overall feel and appearance of the skin. As a denaturant, it can modify the properties of other ingredients, while its role as a solvent allows for the effective dissolution of other components in a formulation. Furthermore, GLYCERIN contributes to viscosity control, helping to achieve the desired thickness of a product. Its use in oral care products highlights its broad applicability across different cosmetic categories. Formulators may add GLYCERIN to improve the texture, stability, and moisturizing properties of their formulations.

SODIUM CHLORIDE, commonly known as table salt, is a versatile ingredient used in cosmetics for various functions. It acts as a bulking agent, helping to increase the volume of formulations without significantly altering their properties. Additionally, it can serve as a viscosity-controlling agent, allowing formulators to adjust the thickness of products to achieve desired textures. In some cases, it may also enhance fragrance stability or contribute to oral-care formulations. Due to its multifaceted roles, SODIUM CHLORIDE is a valuable component in the development of a wide range of cosmetic products.

CI 77891, commonly known as Titanium Dioxide, is a mineral-based colorant widely used in cosmetics. Its primary function is to provide opacity and whiteness to formulations, making it a popular choice in products like foundations, sunscreens, and powders. Formulators may add CI 77891 not only for its coloring properties but also for its ability to reflect UV light, which can enhance the protective qualities of certain products. However, it is important to note that CI 77891 is subject to specific regulatory restrictions in cosmetic formulations.
